Project Govardhan – Shreekara World Foundation

Shreekara World Foundation, in association with Nandini Goshala, Nagpur, Maharashtra, is proudly implementing Project Govardhan, a compassionate initiative focused on animal welfare and community service. The main goal of this project is to rescue cows that have been abandoned, maltreated, or left without proper care and provide them with a safe, healthy, and dignified life.

Cows hold a significant place in Indian culture and are vital to rural livelihoods. However, many stray and injured cows suffer due to neglect, lack of food, poor shelter, or inadequate medical care. Project Govardhan addresses these challenges by offering comprehensive support, ensuring that rescued cows are provided with nutritious food, clean water, proper shelter, and open land areas where they can live naturally and peacefully.

Medical care is a crucial component of this project. Special attention is given to cows that have been injured, sick, or abused. Veterinary treatments, regular check-ups, and rehabilitation support are provided to help them recover and regain strength. This compassionate approach ensures that every cow, regardless of its condition, receives the care and attention it deserves.

Mr. Dheeraj Lalvaney, Director of Shreekara World Foundation, serves as the coordinator of Project Govardhan for the Nagpur chapter. A passionate environmentalist and lover of nature, he leads this initiative with dedication and compassion. Alongside Mr. Ramesh Lalvaney, the founder of Nandini Goshala, he is actively working to expand the project’s impact, ensuring that rescued cows live with dignity and comfort.

Project Govardhan goes beyond animal rescue—it fosters community awareness about the importance of protecting animals and promoting sustainable living. By encouraging citizens to participate in cow care and shelter initiatives, the project aims to build empathy, responsibility, and a collective spirit of care for vulnerable animals.

Through the combined efforts of volunteers, donors, and animal care experts, Project Govardhan is creating an environment where compassion meets action. It aligns with Shreekara’s broader mission of serving society and nature alike, reinforcing the importance of kindness, responsibility, and coexistence.

With growing support, Project Govardhan envisions expanding its reach, rescuing more cows, improving infrastructure, and creating better living conditions in shelters. The initiative also aims to educate people about animal rights and the ethical treatment of animals, inspiring a movement where care and concern for living beings are central values.

Together, Shreekara World Foundation and Nandini Goshala are making a tangible difference—one cow at a time. Join the effort to provide care, dignity, and love to these gentle creatures, and be a part of this noble journey towards a compassionate and harmonious world.
